Goal

Longevity

The peptides readers look up for longevity, and whether each can be prescribed or compounded in the U.S. today. Every status below names the FDA document it rests on.

Prescribable now

  • NAD+

    Legal to compound

    Evidence: Early human data

A coenzyme every cell uses to make energy, now sold as injections and nasal sprays. It may be compounded; the human evidence for giving it directly is two small infusion studies. Read the NAD+ guide

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) is in 503A Category 1 (bulk drug substances under evaluation), covered by FDA's interim compounding policy (list updated May 14, 2026).

171 sellers we track publish a monthly price for it

  • Glutathione

    Legal to compound

    Evidence: Small studies

The body's own antioxidant, sold as injections, sprays and tablets. Taken by mouth it raises the body's stores while you take it; in the trials that tested a disease outcome it did not beat placebo. Read the Glutathione guide

Glutathione is in 503A Category 1 (bulk drug substances under evaluation), covered by FDA's interim compounding policy (list updated May 14, 2026).

Research only

These are not on an FDA list that allows compounding, or we have not yet read their status. We cover the research on them and link no seller.

  • MOTS-c

    Research only

On no 503A list (not in Categories 1–3 of the May 14, 2026 update). The FDA's compounding advisory committee voted 7–5 (two abstentions) in July 2026 to favor listing it; the vote is a recommendation, not binding on the FDA, and pharmacies may not compound it until final rulemaking.

Research on longevity

  1. Epitalon: What the Telomere Claims Rest OnThe telomere results come from cells in a dish, and the human survival studies used a different substance. The FDA found no clinical data supporting epitalon's safety in people.
  2. Glutathione for Skin: What Trials of Oral, Topical and Injected Forms FoundPills and lotions lowered skin melanin readings modestly in small trials. The one placebo-controlled IV trial missed significance, and a 2025 review calls IV use for lightening contraindicated.
  3. Glutathione Injections: What the Evidence ShowsOne placebo-controlled trial for skin lightening, which missed significance. Two FDA alerts on contaminated ingredient. What the rest of the record says.
  4. Glutathione Side Effects: What Injection, IV and Oral Studies ReportedOral glutathione was well tolerated in trials. IV glutathione was too, but contaminated supplement-grade products caused serious reactions. Inhaled, it narrowed the airways in asthma.
  5. Liposomal Glutathione: Does Oral Glutathione Raise Levels in the Body?A single oral dose barely registered in 1992. Six months of daily glutathione raised stores 30% to 35%. The liposomal data are two small studies without a placebo arm.
  6. MOTS-c Dosage: What Mouse and Human Studies Used, and Why No Dose Is SetEvery published MOTS-c dose was given to rodents. The only finished human trial used an analog and never posted its doses or results, so no human dose exists.
  7. MOTS-c: What the Research Shows in Mice and in PeopleStrong mouse data on insulin resistance and running capacity. In people, one study of ten men who made their own MOTS-c while exercising, and no trial results yet.
  8. NAD+ Injections: The Benefits Claimed, and What Studies in People MeasuredTwo small intravenous studies are the human evidence for NAD+ given directly. Neither measured energy or aging, and no study has tested injections under the skin or nasal sprays.
  9. NAD IV Therapy: What Studies of Intravenous NAD+ in People MeasuredDrip clinics sell NAD+ for energy and aging. The studies in people measured what happens to it in the blood, how the drip feels, and one heart trial. None tested the wellness claims.
  10. NAD Nasal Spray: What the Evidence Shows So FarNo human study has tested an NAD+ nasal spray. One mouse study, a general case for the nasal route, and human data on other routes are what exists.
  11. NAD Patches: Can NAD+ Get Through the Skin?NAD+ is larger than the size skin normally lets through, and no published study has measured NAD+ in human blood after a patch. The delivery studies all broke the skin barrier first.
  12. NAD Side Effects: What Injection, IV and Oral Precursor Studies ReportedIV drips caused stomach symptoms and chest pressure during the infusion. Shots under the skin have never been studied. Oral building blocks have randomized trials with clean short-term records.
