Sesame Care

A telehealth marketplace with a dedicated weight-care subscription. You choose a clinician, meet by video and fill brand medication separately.

Review by Molly Ward, goal-guide writer · Updated October 2026

The short version

Sesame makes the clinician relationship clearer than its headline price. You can choose a named provider and keep in touch, but medication costs extra and the advertised low care rate requires a year.

Success by Sesame is the weight-management service on the wider Sesame marketplace. It offers brand GLP-1 prescriptions rather than compounded injections. Its menu includes Wegovy, Zepbound and Foundayo. Sesame, Inc. runs the platform; independent clinical practices provide the care.

Semaglutide is available as the Wegovy injection or daily pill, and tirzepatide as Zepbound. The page also lists the oral medicine Foundayo. Your provider chooses whether treatment is appropriate and which medicine fits. Cash prices increase with some doses; insurance coverage can change the pharmacy bill.

Each “From” figure is the seller’s own starting price, in the unit the seller states. Where a required fee or a package length changes what one month costs, the smaller line under it is our arithmetic, not a figure the seller prints. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved.

Who prescribes

A licensed clinician

The weight page names a network of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, including Muhammad Usman, MD, and Maninder Kaur, NP. You choose your provider rather than having a doctor silently assigned. Sesame says the practices remain independently owned and operated. Availability still depends on the clinician and your location.

After a questionnaire about your goals, you then have a telehealth consultation before any prescription. Your chosen provider reviews your medical history and may order labs. The ongoing subscription includes video visits and unlimited messaging. The app also tracks doses, progress and side effects. A prescription can go to a local pharmacy or an eligible delivery service.

Are labs required?

Included when ordered

The subscription includes labs when needed to monitor weight care. Your provider decides whether metabolic testing is useful. The page directs patients to lab locations rather than promising that every possible test is covered.

What it claims, and what it cites

The weight page projects milestones of 5%, 10% and 15% weight loss across three, six and twelve months. It identifies research on injectable semaglutide alongside lifestyle changes. Those are research-based milestones, not measured outcomes for every Sesame patient. Patient testimonials are presented separately and do not establish an average result for the program.

How it bills

Care costs $99 on the month-to-month plan. The $59 headline belongs to an annual commitment. Medication is paid separately, with manufacturer cash programs and insurance affecting the bill. A Wegovy injection renewal of $349 plus $99 care comes to $448 before any pharmacy-specific charges. The same FAQ calls the monthly plan billed every month and every 28 days. That disagreement deserves clarification before enrollment. The weight page allows self-cancellation before the next cycle; general terms also describe a 48-hour notice period through support. Cancel at least three hours before your first visit for the stated initial refund.
