Missed-dose checker
Pick the medicine and say how long it has been. It quotes that product's FDA label on a missed dose, shows which part of the rule your timing falls in, and links the label on DailyMed.
Every instruction on this page is the label’s own sentence, quoted. The checker adds nothing of its own beyond which part of the rule your timing falls in.

Frequently asked questions
- What does the Ozempic label say about a missed dose?
- The Ozempic prescribing information (label version June 2026) says: "If a dose is missed, administer OZEMPIC as soon as possible within 5 days after the missed dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and administer the next dose on the regularly scheduled day."
- What do the Zepbound and Mounjaro labels say about a missed dose?
- The two labels use the same words, each with its own product name. The Zepbound prescribing information (label version August 2026) says: "If a dose is missed, instruct patients to administer ZEPBOUND as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours) after the missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and administer the next dose on the regularly scheduled day." The Mounjaro label (version August 2026) sets the same 4-day line.
- Why do Ozempic and Wegovy have different rules if both are semaglutide?
- Each product's label sets its own rule, and they measure from different points. The Ozempic label counts forward from the missed dose, with a line at 5 days. The Wegovy injection label counts back from the next scheduled dose, with a line at 2 days. That is why the checker asks a different timing question for each.
- What if two weekly doses were missed in a row?
- The Wegovy injection label has a separate rule for that: "If 2 or more consecutive doses of WEGOVY injection are missed, reinitiate dosage escalation at a lower dosage to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions." The missed-dose passages of Ozempic injection, Zepbound and Mounjaro cover one missed dose and do not address two in a row, so that question goes to the prescriber.
- Does a day mean 24 hours here?
- The labels for Wegovy injection, Zepbound and Mounjaro print the hours next to the days, so the line is exact. The labels for Ozempic injection, Saxenda and Victoza state the window in days only, and the checker counts a day as 24 hours for those.
- What about compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide?
- Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide have no FDA label, so there is no label rule to quote for them. For a compounded prescription, the missed-dose instructions come from the prescriber who wrote it and the pharmacy that filled it.
- Where do the quotes come from?
- From each product's current label on DailyMed, the National Library of Medicine's library of FDA labels. The checker covers Wegovy injection, Ozempic injection, Zepbound, Mounjaro, Saxenda, Victoza, Wegovy tablets and Rybelsus or Ozempic tablets. Each result names the section it quotes, the month of the label version and a link to the full label.
For the approved doses themselves and how each label steps them up, see the semaglutide, tirzepatide and liraglutide dosage guides.
