Nurx

A women's health telehealth service that prescribes brand GLP-1s and a compounded weight pill. You fill most GLP-1 pens at your own pharmacy.

Review by Molly Ward, goal-guide writer · Updated October 2026

The short version

Nurx is a prescriber first and a pharmacy second. Its clinicians write brand GLP-1 prescriptions, but the pens are filled and paid for at your local pharmacy. The one GLP-1 it prices is the Zepbound vial, shipped by a partner pharmacy. Expect a care fee every month on top of the drug.

Nurx is a telehealth brand best known for birth control, now owned by Thirty Madison. Its weight program is built around women's health. Clinicians can prescribe Zepbound, Wegovy, Saxenda, Ozempic, Mounjaro and Victoza. They also prescribe oral plans, including a compounded Nurx 3-in-1 Pill. Branded pens are not shipped by Nurx. The Zepbound single-dose vial is the exception: it ships from Gifthealth, which bills you for it.

Brand GLP-1 pens are the main injectable option. You collect them from a pharmacy you choose and pay there, with insurance if your plan covers them. The Zepbound vial is the cash route, priced by dose and shipped to you. Two drug-facts pages describe a compounded semaglutide injection and capsule. No product page offers or prices them. Nurx says it does not prescribe phentermine or other controlled drugs.

Each “From” figure is the seller’s own starting price, in the unit the seller states. Where a required fee or a package length changes what one month costs, the smaller line under it is our arithmetic, not a figure the seller prints. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved.

      Who prescribes

      A licensed clinician

The prescribers belong to KMG Medical Group, a set of affiliated practices in Missouri, Kansas, New Jersey and Texas. The telehealth consent names them and their engaged providers, a clinician network. It also says Thirty Madison does not provide care itself. It handles the admin and payments. The team page names two medical directors, Dr. Peter Young and Dr. Neil Zlatniski, and one nurse practitioner. The clinician who reviews your weight request is not named before you start. Each page says the provider is licensed in your state.

You start with an online intake about your health history, weight goals and medication preferences. A licensed clinician reviews it and may ask follow-up questions. If treatment is appropriate, they write a personalized plan. A provider checks in about two weeks after you start. After that you get unlimited messaging for side effects and dose changes. Services are not offered in every state, and no list is published.

      Are labs required?

      Not mentioned

None of the weight pages mention lab work. Eligibility rules out pregnancy, breastfeeding and a history of eating disorders.

What it claims, and what it cites

The weight page promises 1 to 2 pounds of loss a week in the first weeks. It also says you can lose 10 to 20% of your body weight in a year. Both lines carry an "individual results may vary" note and no study. The site counts 2 million patients and 26,691 reviews, with a 4.7 rating. Those numbers cover all of Nurx, not the weight program.

      How it bills

Weight care has two Nurx charges. On the women's pages, the consult is $79 once and provider support is $79 a month. The men's page lists $39 and $59 instead. The consult fee is not refunded if no prescription is written. The drug is billed separately. Brand pens are paid at your pharmacy, and Nurx estimates $650 to $1,300 a month without insurance. The Zepbound vial costs $349 a month at 2.5 mg and $499 at 5 mg, billed by Gifthealth with supplies extra. The subscription renews until you cancel, at least 48 hours before the next billing date.
